The median price for a home in the United States was $253,000 in 2017, according to Zillow. That means half sold for less than that amount, and half sold for more.

Median Household Income by State  

The median household income in the U.S., as reported by the Census Bureau, is $51,939 per year. This figure represents the middle point of the distribution of incomes among households in the country. It also includes both personal and family income.  

Median Home Value by State 

According to Zillow, the average home value in the U.S. is currently $213,000. That means that half of homes sold in the U.S are worth less than $213,000, while the other half are worth more than $213,000. 

Average Mortgage Payment by State 

If you’re looking to buy a new home, you should consider how much money you will need to pay each month. This includes mortgage payments, property taxes, insurance, maintenance costs, and any additional fees. You can use an online calculator to estimate what your monthly payment would be. 

Average Monthly Rent by City

According to Zillow, the average rent in the U.S. is $1,095 per month. However, there are wide variations across cities. For example, renters in New York City pay an average of $2,818 per month, while those in San Francisco pay only $971.
