Grand Remuera Mansion Seeks New Owner With $25 Million Price Tag

Another contender has joined the ranks of Remuera’s most prestigious properties. The mansion next door to the suburb’s record-breaking $29 million home has hit the market, boasting a cool $25 million CV.

The five-bedroom property at 298 Remuera Road is a rare offering in an Auckland suburb known for its glamorous estates, according to listing agent Paul Sissons of New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty. “How many properties with this kind of land size are left in Remuera?” Sissons said, highlighting the sprawling 3498sqm (almost 0.9 acres) of grounds.

This isn’t the first time 298 Remuera Road has graced the headlines. In 2003, it held the title of second-highest sale price for the year at $7.8 million. The grand residence has a rich history, originally built in 1937. Over the decades, it’s undergone significant transformations. Architect Simon Carnachan led a substantial upgrade and extension in the 1990s, followed by further renovations by the current owners.

Sissons, who recently sold a $15 million-plus Italian-style trophy home on Paritai Drive, expects the classical design of 298 Remuera Road to be a particular draw for overseas buyers. With its extensive grounds and opulent interior details waiting to be revealed, this grand Auckland mansion is sure to attract a discerning buyer seeking a piece of Remuera’s prestigious property scene.
