Lagos Police Launch Probe After Officer Allegedly Stabs Man to Death at Skymall

The Lagos State Police Command is investigating the death of a man allegedly stabbed by a police officer at the popular Skymall shopping mall in Ajah on Saturday, April 20.

The victim, identified as Anosikwa Patrick, was reportedly involved in an altercation with the officer, who has been identified as Inspector Taofeek of the visiting 12 PMF squadron. The details surrounding the nature of the altercation are unclear at this time.

According to Lagos police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin, Inspector Taofeek is not currently in custody. However, the mall’s manager and chief security officer are assisting with the investigation.

The Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade, has directed detectives from the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department to handle the case. The public is assured of a swift and thorough investigation.
